SIGNATURE FLIGHT SUPPORT

GERALD FORD INTL. AIRPORT, GRAND RAPIDS, MI.

Rivers & Christian is the Architect-of-Record for Signature Flight Support's new, ground-up Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facility at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Grand Rapids, MI. Working with Tammy Edmonds Design Rivers & Christian provided complete architectural and interior design services to execute the general aviation, one hangar FBO facility. Sited on an approximately thirteen-acre site, the project includes an 18,000-square-foot aircraft hangar and a 4,500-square-foot one-story terminal building. Additionally, the project provides 350,000 square feet of aircraft ramp as well as 20,000 square feet of paved parking and landscape area. The Signature Fight Support terminal provides aircraft owners/passengers, reception/check-in, lounges, conference rooms and a Bistro. There are also pilot support areas for flight planning and exercising, aircraft fueling, maintenance, and storage. Signature Flight Support's vision was to construct a pristine modulated terminal structure that would reflect the contemporary sophistication of the new GRR/KGRR airport and enhance the Signature Support Group Brand. The steel framed terminal is clad in a white and gray insulated aluminum rain-screen and insulated aluminum storefront system with eighteen-foot high passenger spaces and automobile porte cochere at the entrance. The pre-manufactured hangar is clad with gray insulated aluminum panels.
